About KCTN

Knit and Crochet Tennessee began in 2007 when a group of like minded women determined that there was a need for a knitting and crochet organization to meet the charitable needs of the Nashville community.
The Big Stitch event started in 2008 as a way to gather these knitters and crocheters to work towards a common goal of providing baby blankets and hats for Nashville General Hospital.  In the last eleven years, Knit and Crochet Tennessee has expanded our charitable reach to more than thirty local groups donating more than 35,000 hats, scarves, afghans, baby hats and baby blankets.  Nine years ago Big Stitch University was added to further the skills of the more than 500 fiber friends who attend the quarterly Big Stitch each year.  In 2015 we began offering free knitting and crochet classes at area libraries.  So far over fifty classes have been taught to over 1000 students.
