Size: 16″ x 14″.
Materials:
Yarn: Bernat Softee Baby; 100% Acrylic. 5oz/140g 362yd/331m.
Yarn Weight: DK.
Needle size: US 10(6mm).
Bernat Softee Baby- color of your choice – 2 skeins.
Stitch markers: 2.
Gauge: 15 sts = 4″ in box stitch pattern holding 2 strands of yarn together.

PATTERN:
CO 60 sts holding 2 strands of yarn together.
Knit 6 rows.
Row 1 (RS): K3, pm, k2, *p2, k2* rep from * to * until last 3 sts, pm, k3.
Row 2 (WS): K3, sm, p2, *k2, p2* rep from * to * until marker, sm, K3.
Row 3 (RS): Repeat row 2.
Row 4 (WS): Repeat row 1.
Repeat rows 1 – 4 until piece measures 13″ from cast on edge.
Knit 6 rows.
BO
Weave in ends.
Abbreviations:
CO- cast on
BO- bind off
RS- right side
WS- wrong side
K- knit
P- purl
sts- stitches
rep- repeat
pm – place marker
sm – slip marker
Note: You will only be placing the markers on the first row of your knitting. After you knit the first row you will be slipping markers as you come to them.
♥To make a larger blanket this is how you would change the pattern:
You would cast on a multiple of 4 extra stitches until you like the width.
For example; if you want the blanket to be about 4 inches wider you would
cast on about 16 more stitches (I am getting that number from the stitch
gauge).
If you want the blanket to be about 8 inches wider you would cast on about
32 more stitches.
Then you would work the pattern until it is the length you want.
