This class introduces the “short-row” technique to make a 2- or 3-color hot pad. The hot pad is worked in one piece in rows from the center to the edge using short rows with single crochet, chains, and slip stitches and changing colors as each “swirl” is completed. It takes just a few minutes to get the basic shape of the “swirls”, This pattern is the basis for a larger blanket-sized swirl and that pattern will also be provided in the class. Materials: Cotton yarn in sport-weight or worsted-weight, 2 or 3 colors that go together; Hook: size G/4 mm, H/ 5 mm.
Class Level: Intermediate: must know basics, be comfortable changing colors,
be able to read a pattern
